About BeTheBuffalo

Empowering K-5 students through SEL

Our Story iconOur Story

BeTheBuffalo was born from a simple yet powerful metaphor: when a storm approaches, buffalo are the only animals that run toward the storm instead of away from it. By facing challenges head-on, they get through the storm faster and emerge stronger.

We believe every child deserves the tools to navigate life's challenges with courage, compassion, and confidence. Through engaging stories, interactive activities, and evidence-based SEL curriculum aligned to CASEL standards, we help K-5 students develop the social-emotional skills they need to thrive.

Why "Be The Buffalo"?

When storms approach the Great Plains, most animals run away. But buffalo do something remarkable—they turn and run toward the storm. By facing it head-on, they pass through it faster and spend less time in discomfort. We teach children to do the same with life's challenges.
